At a recent meeting of the Wahpeton Chapter of Dollars for Scholars Board, Mr. Paul Hentges, representing the Steve Fenske Memorial Fund and Golf Tournament, presented a $5,000 gift to be invested in the chapter endowment fund. This is the third gift made by the Fenske Memorial Fund to Wahpeton Dollars for Scholars in the past three years. The total amount given is now $20,000. These monies are used to fund scholarships for graduating students of Wahpeton High School.  This year will be the last year that the Golf Tournament on Steve Fenske's behalf will be held.  Be sure that you make plans to join in the event!

Steve Fenske was a Wahpeton High graduate and area resident at the time of his death in 1991. That year, a group of friends began an annual golf tournament in his memory to raise funds for local people in need as well as local organizations. This year will represent the 22nd consecutive year the golf tournament has been held. Over the years the tournament was held at various golf courses in the area and this year is tentatively scheduled for July.
